In paying our clients' waste removal bills, Haus Financial Services has been finding a number of additional charges for "extra yardage."  These charges usually occur when owners or tenants put garbage into the collection containers that is in excess of what typically accumulates, and can be related to tenant move-ins or move-outs or improvements being done within the unit.

Extra yardage charges can be applied to a specific owner's account if the board can identify the owner responsible for the additional waste. One way to compensate the association for increased waste removal expenses is to charge a Move In/Move Out fee to owners who are renting their unit whenever there is a tenant turnover.  Charges should be established through the association's Rules & Regulations.  Learn how to create, implement and enforce Rules & Regulations with our Educational Videos.
