Q. Our building is a 5 unit building and we have a few owners and a few units that are rented out. The owners had agreed and enforced for years that the washing machines in the common area of the laundry room are for owners only.

I've heard this is not allowed/legal. How can we change this? 

A. In condominium associations that do not have in-unit washers and dryers, laundry may be handled in a number of ways. Some buildings have no laundry room at all, some provide free use of washers and dryers in a common area and others provide coin or card-operated machines that return a portion of income to the association.
