For condominium associations that provide heat to units through a common heating system, the City of Chicago requires that the following temperatures be maintained:
68 degrees between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m.
66 degrees between 10:30 p.m. and 8:30 a.m.
If your unit seems cold, take a temperature reading to ensure that your building is maintaining the required minimums. Your association may need to turn up the heat or check into a heating system upgrade if the minimums are not being maintained.
