Associations that are successful in obtaining a money judgment against an owner have the right to collect the judgment via liens on assets, including bank accounts, and through wage garnishment. An employer will receive a court order to withhold funds from the owner's paycheck and pay them directly to the association.
The right of the association to collect on a money judgment does not expire if the unit is foreclosed. So owners who have accumulated a large delinquent balance while going through a foreclosure can still be held responsible even when they no longer own the unit.
